Building Performance Colorado

Benchmark the building with the state each year under Regulation 28, and cut greenhouse gas emissions 7% by 2026 and 20% by 2030 against a 2021 baseline.

- Commercial, multifamily and public buildings of 50,000 square feet or more.
- If you miss it
- Penalties assessed by the Colorado Air Pollution Control Division for buildings that fail to benchmark or meet their targets.

Energize Denver
In effect
Denver's own benchmarking and building performance policy. Benchmarking reports are due annually, and covered buildings must have a report third-party verified.

- Commercial and multifamily buildings of 25,000 square feet or more in the City and County of Denver.
- If you miss it
- Fines assessed by Denver for missed benchmarking, and separate penalties for missing performance targets.
